Oh, Right.

Man, I wasn't kidding when I said "neglectful" on that last post, huh? I'd intended to update this here a smidge more often than *checks notes* almost 4 months... yeah.....
Well anyways that's neither here, there or anywhere. It didn't happen and even if it did and you all missed me terribly (like you should), you forgive me because we're tight like that, ya feel me? while I was away I may not have studied the blade but I have been up to some stuff such aaaaaasssssss..... (drumroll please)
Employment!
I've been working a job over the summer! It's one of those "do whatever we need you to do" positions that isn't really anywhere in particular but it's been fun! They got me all over the shop so I'm keeping busy and my brain is at minimal risk of imploding from lack of use (for the most part). Honestly as much as I dread getting up in the mornings and going out early for stuff, it's been really nice to have something to do like that. Schedules are a paaaaaaaain but they get a pass on account of helping me feel normal.
Now if only I were getting paid for this...
Hello, I'm Gaming.
In other news: I've been playing like 1 morbillion old MMORPGs like World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI on the HorizonXI server and looking at some Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst, too! FFXI's been my total favourite among them. Something about how low down and heavy that game feels to play speaks to me as opposed to something faster paced and quicker to get into like FFXIV (which is an addiction that will return once I can buy a sub). I'm nowhere near smart enough to articulate why exactly I love it but it just feels so involved and intricate and like there's so much to do in the world that it's absolutely got me hooked. (13 hour poorly written video essay coming soon???)
That new Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond card game has also been taking a chunk of my time. I heard folks were right proper mad about how they made you unable to sell all copies of a card for materials. Honestly, I kinda get it. Do I think it's annoying that a level of freedom you had before was kinda taken from you? Most definitely, I'd be bugged about it too. Now, do I think this is enough for the game to warrant being reviewbombed to being the 2nd worst game on steam? Absolutely no way, no how, no clue how that happened. It's a good game, just with one or two annoying bits to it monetization-wise in my opinion.
I've had a bunch of fun playing almost exclusively dragoncraft, which centers around increasing your number of play points (the currency you use to play cards) so you can get your big guys on field faster than your opponent could. I love this one guy, Cocytus, who's a 10 cost unit (maximum cost) and replaces your whole deck with a different, smaller, stronger one once you play him. I wanna make a deck that's about getting him out A.S.A.P but I kinda sorta suck at cards games a little tiny major huge awful amount. So that's not gonna happen very soon.
Other Hobbies Include:
I've been getting ready to pick up crocheting again. I started way back when and made one pretty nice scarf but I've been sooooooo unmotivated to pick those hooks up again. I'll see if I can't make another scarf by the winter season and maybe try some other shapes and tutorials to make my own little crocheted ecosystem of accessories. One day you people will look up at billboards and see comfy soft socks made by yours truly and beg for but a single thread to grace your cold, uncovered feets.
Been getting into movies a bit more than usual lately, too. I'm not like *binging* the things but I've made a point to see some more of the ones that have interested me for a while, like Mission Impossible (the first one) and Akira Kurosawa's samurai flicks like Yojimbo and Sanjuro.
God, I love those last two. Sanjuro is such a fun character to watch when he makes plans and plays the bad guys like absolute fools. That whole delayed slash blood explosion effect actually came from the Sanjuro movie as a famous special effects malfunction that ended up being way cooler than anybody had intended. Whoops! Guess culture's changed forever!
Mission Impossible isn't without it's own impact either. The scene where he's infiltrating that vault requiring perfect silence, temperature, lack of contact with literally anything, God you could not only hear a pin drop in that room, you'd hear the alarm it set off immediately after. The silent tension in that scene was so crazy it had me genuinely holding my breath for a chunk of it.
In Closing
Well, that's about all I've got on my mind about the last few months. More's probably happened but if I rack my brain too hard on it I'll start smoking out the ears and I'm too pretty for brain death by short circuit. Hope y'all have been good these past months and hope you'll tune in next decade when I make my
